Preparing for using Sensor data receiver dongle.

You can connect various sensors to Gravio, you can use “free device rental” for Gravio Basic purchaser as “Rental Devices”: https://www.gravio.com/jp/product#Gravio-Rent as a physical sensor .
We currently support two kinds of wireless communication type sensors.

  • Button Built-in battery device (Zigbee specification) – Installation of exclusive driver software is required.
  • Solar panel type device (EnOcean specification) – The driver software is automatically installed on the OS side.

Added driver for sensor receiver of built-in button battery (Zigbee specification)

In order to use the device with built-in button battery (Zigbee specification), you need to insert the following USB receiver into the PC.

For PC.

After inserting the USB receiver in the PC, please install the dedicated driver software by the following procedure.

  1. For PC, please select “GravioTools” from the Start menu and start it.
  2. GravioTools will be displayed in Windows tray. At this point, press the right mouse button and select “Install Gravio receiver driver” from the menu.
  3. Please install the driver.
  4. The receiver is ready now.

For Mac.
  1. Please select “Install Gravio receiver driver” from Gravo Service menu.
  2. Press “Install” on the dialog screen.
  3. The Gravio receiver driver installer will start. Please press “Continue” to install the driver.
  4. The receiver is ready now.

Adding Devices to the Layers

To receive the sensor data, you need to bind the sensor receiver dongle for this Layer. Please click on the circled “+” mark on the top right of the window:

Select the appropriate data source, for example the USB Serial Port, and you will get a view similar to this:

To start receiving data from the sensor, please enable this device using the switch:
